With a donkey, bus, or hiking group, playfully, the group Mobile Albania moves through nowhere and everywhere street. As they drift through public domain, they collect stories from the people they meet along their way. A little naive, yet very political, the group shines a light in the forgotten corners of the world. And yes, even corners around the corner from you and me.
Our guest Katharina Stephan, has been a member of the group since its founding in 2009. She’ll be presenting us a few of their projects while addressing the Hinterland (back-country) term and the Wiesbaden Biennale.
“[…]The Mobile Albania nomadism [isn’t] exactly the jet-set nomadism of today’s modern “digital bohemian”. For this, the moment of humble and provisional improve is too much in the foreground, and in the “back-country”.
