Wide-eyed androids with gold swimming caps. And a five-player trumpet ensemble playing disco-Satie and using music stands for unusual purposes such as rifles or bugles. From burping competitions and Madame Butterfly parodies to Hitler moustaches, the outstanding Cape Verdean choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas leaves no holds barred in her celebration of high culture as a zombie dance! She will open the currently empty City Passage with a Dadaistic performance, which is a necromancy and dance of the dead that is addicted to life at the same time. Based on Euripides’ “The Bacchae”, Freitas will create a cultic frenzy in the City Passage. In her version, however, it is not the insulted god Dionysus hunting the upstanding women from the protective city, but all of us being chased into wild abandon on the dark side of Wiesbaden’s
